Bulgarian Lawyers for Human Rights is a non-profit organization that aims to promote the establishment and effective implementation of international standards in the field of legal protection of human rights in Bulgaria.
Founded in 1993 by five lawyers with experience in various branches of law, Bulgarian Lawyers for Human Rights is the first organization of its kind in Bulgaria and in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Currently, the BAHR Foundation works with over 25 authoritative, practicing lawyers, thus covering issues related to the protection of human rights in practically all major areas of Bulgarian legislation.
1. Legal assistance and strategic management of cases related to characteristic, recurring human rights violations before Bulgarian and international courts and revealing inconsistency of Bulgarian legislation and case law with international standards.
2. Publications and other information and educational activities aimed at the legal community regarding international instruments and standards for their application in the field of legal protection of human rights
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookm arksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place.

The Executive Director makes decisions on current issues concerning the management of the organization and the expenditure of funds.
The Board of Directors consists of six members, headed by the Chairman. It includes lawyers working for the organization, as well as prominent, independent specialists from other non-governmental organizations. The Board makes strategic decisions regarding the policy and activities of the Foundation, approves the annual programs of activities and budget, as well as the annual reports on their implementation, prepared by the Executive Director.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director represent the Foundation jointly and separately both in the country and abroad.
